This is just a list of posts I have written in the past month or so for the Cape Youth Front, a project of Robert King’s, a young and very talented organiser who has recently built an organisation for linking the youth across party boundaries for supporting Cape independence.
30 June - Solidariteit, the DA, and Employment Equity (
Here, I outline the CCMA deal in which the Afrikaner trade union Solidariteit managed to extract a deal from the ANC that would effectively neutralise their affirmative action policies.
I have gotten some notes on this since, from people in Sakeliga - apparently the deal wasn’t a slam dunk I thought it was at the time - I and others suspect that it may hinge on getting an “extension to non-parties” ruling under S32 of the Labour Relations Act
3 July - The DA’s fragile plans for 2024
In this article, I outlined a certain faction in the DA’s intension to form a coalition with the ANC, and how they have settled on a strategy that they know is doomed to fail in order to assuage public distaste for the idea
7 July - Violence and censorship - the ANC’s vicious plans for the May elections
Here, I outlined various angles touching on a deal between the Independent Electoral Commission and certain politically motivated “fact-checkers” for policing the 2024 election
11 July - Western Cape Autonomy legislation explained
This is an explainer on the two bills on the floor of the provincial parliament which seek devolution of governing powers to the Western Cape, and why they are both necessary to achieve their aims.
7 August - How to kill the taxi cartels and other organised crime
This one I just wrote this afternoon, addressing the recent taxi cartel protests against their duty to obey the law, and how it fits into ANC strategy and corruption, and a brief bit on how an independent Cape could deal with the issue more decisively
El Salvador response to cartels - it can be done - only vaguely possible and only in the context of CI. Thanks Rob....
